Black History Month: One Way or Another: Black Women’s Cinema, 1970-1991 @ BAMCinématek

In celebration of Black History month, BAMCinématek will showcase 21 films by black women filmmakers in the “One Way or Another” film series @ the BAM Rose Cinemas,  February 3 – February 23, 2017

Some of the films that will be presented include Julie Dash’s, Daughters of the Dust, documentary films by Camille Billows, the 1974 film by Afro-Cuban filmmaker, Sara Gomez, One Way or Another, Sky Captain, directed by Neema Barnette and more.  There will also be an animation program that will spotlight the contributions of black women to the art of animation.  There is also planned Q+A sessions, talks, panel discussions and film introductions by various actors, producers and filmmakers.

General Admission: $14, Members: $7 (free for Level 4 and above)
